I help drivers get their DAC report fast so they may correct errors,
more easily complete employment applications, store it securely on-line
and provide tools so the information can be used by drivers to get a
job. Interestingly, one of the more common questions I get doesn’t
deal with the above, but instead is more basic: “Exactly what’s on a
DAC?”

I have a lot of drivers ask me about getting their own authority.
They’ve come to DOTJobHistory, obtained their driving, employment and
criminal history (their AppPak) and are now looking to use the
information to advance their career.

This past summer, I spoke at the American Trucking Associations Legal
Forum and attended the Dallas, Great American Truck Show. Quite a
contrast in perspective—one of the groups (or maybe it is me) sometimes
seems to need another cup of coffee.

When a “consumer report” is used to prevent the contracting. Last
month’s column detailed the differences between Independent contractors
and employees from the standpoint of the Internal Revenue Service.
Let’s assume you are a no-doubt about it, bona fide independent
contractor in the IRS’s beady little eyes. There is another Federal
Agency that still considers you an employee when it comes to some of
your rights.
